We collect as little as possible. Here is exactly what happens with your data:
When you use the built-in translation feature (21 languages), translation runs entirely on your device using Apple's Translation framework. Your text is never sent to our servers or any third party. No keystroke logging occurs at any time.
When you subscribe to Flash Pro and use online translation, the specific text you select to translate is sent to Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services (Translator API) to perform the translation. This means:
If the keyboard extension crashes, we use Firebase Crashlytics to receive an anonymous crash report. This report includes:
Crash reports do not contain your typed text, translation content, or any personally identifiable information. Crashlytics is operated by Google. See Firebase Privacy.
Flash Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment information. We receive only a transaction confirmation and an entitlement status from Apple. Apple's privacy policy governs the subscription transaction.
Your preferences (selected languages, keyboard layout, macros, settings) are stored locally on your device in an iOS App Group shared between the Flash Keyboard app and the keyboard extension. This data never leaves your device unless you use iCloud backup, which is governed by Apple's iCloud privacy policy.
Flash Keyboard is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Flash Keyboard after any change constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
Because we collect no personally identifiable information, there is typically no data to access, correct, or delete. If you have concerns about data processed by Microsoft Azure or Google Firebase, please refer to their respective privacy policies linked in sections 2b and 2c above.
